Photographers tend to concentrate on certain subjects. My passion is working with people and, occasionally, still lifes as subjects. Most of my work is done in my small studio, where new talent is always welcome. Even if someone has never posed in a studio setting, they become models when they walk through my door.My working space becomes a stage where intimate performances play out under lights and in front of backdrops. My style as a photographer favors a comfortable rapport with minimal direction. Shortly into a session everyone is caught up with impromptu posing ideas and inhibitions drop.
Photographs lacking emotion are boring; I strive to arouse a response with the subject and, in turn, with the viewer of the finished images. Sometimes I build on those captured feelings with my post-production skills. Working passionately to capture emotions: my reason for being a photographer.
